Something for the preview post today. Later on I’m heading over to Suntec City to cover the highlights of the Cosplay Competition in conjunction with License2Play exhibition. For now, let’s have some tease, shall we? :P

Zero Punctuation

Now for many of you gamers who don’t already know Mr. Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw, he’s the ultimate in games journalism – only he likes to pees onto games he reviews. He currently works for Escapist Magazine, where he has his own web show called “Zero Punctuation.”

In his 2 recent reviews, he talks about Valkyria Chronicles and Velvet Assassin, where he delightfully tears each game apart like the Rapture is going to happen. I guess as a “jaded ex-PC-gamer,” I find the humor a bit jarring, but likeable. I’ve lost in touch with modern games so much that I much preferred to play old games, where I find the pace easy-going and unpressured to play. These are the reasons I don’t go into online games or MMORPGs: they get very tedious in the long run. Who wants to play a tedious game? (I’m looking at you, MGS!)

At the moment, I’m re-watching several videos of Yahtzee’s previous “faceblending” exercises in game criticism. I expect nothing less from the cheeky /b/tard.

Final Fantasy: Distant Worlds

I decided to do a preview post before I attend the concert tomorrow evening. For your info, attending a concert without any background knowledge whatsoever of the game related to it is akin to going onto the battlefield with only your mud flaps, your standard issue rifle and scrimped amour from previous detachments.

Based off their main website, there will be a two-hour performance, based off the various Final Fantasy games soundtrack. Unfortunately, my experience with Final Fantasy game music was from The Black Mages III (unless people tell me both entities are similar, or same).

I’m confused, though: Wikipedia said that the performance will be done by the Baltimore Symphony, but a quick look at the Singapore Arts Festival website lists Arnie Roth as the main conductor, yet there’s a mention of our local symphony orchestra and choir. Hmmm, I’ll gonna trust the direct source…

OK, so what’s the preview post for?

Ah, somehow, one way or another, you found my blog! Congratulations, you’ve just found out my secret hiding place.

As you all know, I previously had a blog hosted on Blogger my previous blog is no longer maintained. WordPress has become my new plaything now, and with great freedom comes great responsibility…

As you can see, my new blog is still a work-in-progress. I have yet to waste my time customizing the banners and do some work on the web design itself. I have no intention to rush it, so I take it one step at a time.

Actually, there’s nothing more I need to say. Considering that I post this at around 12:37 a.m. Monday morning, I am pretty much spaced out. Till then, this is TP signing out.
